About In Home Music

In Home Music was started in order to address the growing need to conveniently bring high quality music education into the student’s home. Our appeal to our clients, who are very often parents and busy working individuals, is that we save them a great deal of drive time, wait time, and various hassles by coming to their house, which, in turn, offers our clients more free time in their lives. Other benefits of in home lessons include learning music in the comfort of your own home, and having a warm-up period available before each lesson, which would have previously been used for travel.

Our People

Jimmy Nguyen

As co-founder and CEO of In Home Music, Jimmy is responsible for the company's direction, business development, as well as developing business partnerships. He works closely with In Home Music's co-Founders in developing and implementing business processes, software (website) architecture, hiring processes, and customer service processes. Jimmy is a former "Big Five" consultant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Masters Degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.

Trevor Schrotz

As a co-founder and COO of In Home Music, Trevor runs the daily operations, including customer care, welcoming new students, connecting new students with their instructors, and solidifying business partnerships. Trevor is also a drum set musician and teacher. Trevor performs and records with musicians throughout the Washington, DC metro area including his primary band BRAVE (http://www.bravemusic.com). He has also performed with the Rappahannock Pops Orchestra. Trevor's management experience includes working with a multitude of instructors each week in the coordination of their schedules as well as overseeing the hiring process for each individual instructor. Michelle Schrotz

As a co-founder and CFO of In Home Music, Michelle runs the billing and accounting department. Michelle works closely with students and teachers to insure a smooth process for everyone. Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from George Mason University and has been a singer/keyboardist with the Washington DC based band BRAVE (http://www.bravemusic.com) since 1998. Michelle has recorded many CD’s with BRAVE and other musicians across the country in styles ranging from hard rock to Spanish flamenco.
